Mr. Ye is a patent attorney in private practice with a law firm . He specializes in Intellectual Property Law, including patent, copyright, trademark, trade secret and technology licensing. His main practice includes: a) client counseling, corporate IP strategies; b) patent prosecution (in the art areas of high technology, computer hardware/software, chemical engineering and mechanics); c) patent litigation (some of the cases involve tens of millions of dollars at stake and companies around the world.); and d) other IP rights acquisition, enforcement and defense.
Prior to joining Wong Cabello, Mr. Ye was a patent agent/attorney at Christensen O'Connor Johnson & Kindness, Seattle, WA, where he was responsible for patent prosecution in mechanical, chemical and software art. Before that, Mr. Ye was an intern for Federal Magistrate Judge Marcia Crone in Houston, Texas and a summer clerk with Gardere Wynne Sewell, a large full service law firm in Houston. Prior to his legal career, Mr. Ye was a process engineer for Bechtel Corp. and Jacobs Engineering Group in Houston, Texas. His responsibilities included process engineering simulation, programming, process design, plant operation and equipment evaluation, plant revamp feasibility study, process safety system design and audit. Mr. Ye was enrolled in graduate school at L.S.U., where he participated in the scientific research work in the Surface Science Laboratory. His responsibilities included ultra high vacuum system implementation and operation, solid sample preparation and analysis with various radiation sources. Mr. Ye is a member of various bar associations including the Houston Bar and the State Bar of Texas. Mr. Ye is admitted to practice in the State of Texas and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Ye received his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in May, 2001. He was the Information Technology Editor, Houston Business and Tax Law Journal, 1999-2001. Mr. Ye has Master of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Physics from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He has a BS in Physics from Fudan University, Shanghai, China.
